Peterbuilt trucks was founded by Al Peterman in 1939, after he purchased Fageol trucks from Sterling. This classic "Bubblenose" model was introduced in 1950.
Ringsby Truck Lines was established by J.W. Ringsby in 1932. Over the next 30 years, Ringsby grew through numerous acqusitions. Ringsby financial problems began in 1969, and were compounded by a 3 year union strike, which started in 1976.
By 1981, Ringsby hit a break even point, but could not return to its former profitability. Ringsby shut down in 1984.
